Canoeing & Kayaking

Come kayak in the crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika as you experience Africa’s largest freshwater lake. Kayaking can also be done around Matema Beach on Lake Nyasa in southern Tanzania. 

The Wami River inside Saadani National park is a great canoeing spot; here you will see crocodiles basking on the river bank and pods of hippos going about their business inside the river. You can also canoe inside Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park; along the Rufiji River and Ruaha River, respectively. You will get to experience the African wilderness from the rivers that sustain the local ecosystems. 

Rubondo Island in Lake Victoria is also a great place for canoeing; you will explore the tranquil surroundings of the park on traditional boats.
