After breakfast, you will head out for a full day of chimpanzee tracking.
Mahale is a place where mountain forests meet the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika, the crystal clear water of Lake Tanganyika re kissed by beaches covered by the finest powderlike white sands and above all, the howls and shrieks of resident chimpanzees complete the magical experience by reverberating through the forest.
Mahale is one of the best places in the world to encounter chimpanzees up-close; it is home to about 900 chimpanzees. If you have additional time you can extend the trip and hike to the top of Mount Nkungwe (2462m) which is the highest peak in the park; usually, the climb can be done in two or three days.
