Chimpanzee Tracking

Tanzania is home to one of the largest protected population of chimpanzees in the world; Mahale National Park alone is home to about 900 chimps. Tanzania is one of the best places in the world to encounter chimpanzees up-close; the parks with the largest chimpanzee populations are accessible throughout the year. 

Chimpanzee tracking can be done in Mahale National Park, Gombe National Park, and Rubondo Island National Park. While on a chimpanzee tracking tour, you can also engage in other activities inside the parks; the activities include hiking to the top of small mountain peaks, bird watching, canoeing, beach holidays, and kayaking.
