14 Days South Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar

On this day you will arrive at Dar es Salaam Airport(Julius Nyerere International Airport) where you will be met by our guide who will drive you to your hotel in Dar es Salaam.

In the morning you will be driven from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve; the drive takes about 6 hours and is approximately 220 kilometers. On arrival, lunch will be served and then you will head out for a boat Safari on the Rufiji River; you will explore the park and its surrounding on a boat.

These two days will be spent doing game drives inside the Selous Game Reserve; the huge size of the Selous Game Reserve means that game drives are conducted in near privacy, with only rare encounters with other tourists the entire day. On these two days, you will see lions, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, birds, wild dogs and many other wild animals of Southern Tanzania.

After breakfast at camp in Selous, you will be driven to Mikumi National Park; the drive takes about five hours and on arrival, you will go on an afternoon game drive.

Today you will enjoy a full day of game viewing inside Mikumi National Park; you will see Africa’s finest predators and big game. You will see zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland antelope, giraffe, buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards and hyenas

You will be driven from Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park arriving in the afternoon; lunch will be served and then you will go for an afternoon game drive inside Ruaha National park which is Tanzania’s largest national park.

Today you will spend half of the day doing game drives and then in the afternoon, you will go for a walking safari. Today you will see predators and game animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyena, wild dogs, bat-eared foxes, jackals, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, Grant’s gazelles, greater and lesser kudus, sable and roan antelopes, waterbucks, and impalas.

Today you will fly from Ruaha National Park to Zanzibar; on arrival, you will be met by our guide who will transfer you your hotel in Stone Town. In the afternoon, you will go on a tour of Prison Island; here you will giant tortoises and you will also visit a slave museum.

At night, you will head out to Forodhani Gardens where you will enjoy seafood with the locals; the catch of the day is prepared and enjoyed by both locals and tourists. Dinner and overnight accommodation at a hotel in Stone Town.

On this day you will tour Stone Town; you will see ancient buildings such as the House of Wonders (Beit al ajaib), the Palace Museum(People’s Palace), the Arab Fort and the Slave Chambers where slaves were held as they awaited shipment across the Indian Ocean. You will also learn about the events that influenced the history of Zanzibar for centuries.

In the evening, you will be driven to Nungwi beach where the remainder of the day will be spent relaxing on the beach. Dinner and overnight accommodation at a beach hotel in Nungwi.

Today you will spend half of the on a dolphin tour at Kizimkazi village; here you will swim with close to bottlenose and humpback dolphins. Swimming with the dolphins in their natural environment is a truly rewarding experience. In the afternoon, you will be driven back to Nungwi for an afternoon of relaxation at the beach.

These two days will be spent relaxing and unwind at the beach after many days of traveling. You will swim, relax and if you like, you may engage in a number of water sports such as diving, snorkeling, paragliding, jet skiing and beach volleyball. Beautiful sunsets are also part of the experience today; you will watch beautiful sunsets as the sun sets across the Indian Ocean.

On this day you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight back home.
